LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University volleyball team (10-7, 4-1 WCC) continues its undefeated home streak, as the team swept Portland 3-0 in Gersten Pavilion Saturday afternoon.

The Lions picked up their fourth straight home sweep this week after putting up a strong showing against the Pilots.
Megan Rice opened up the match with a kill in the first set, putting the Lions on the board first. The Pilots were able to tie things up, but the Lions never gave them the lead. Portland kept a close match until LMU went on a 7-2 run. At 24-21, a kill by
Rose Booth confirmed the set.
Up 1-0, the Lions opened up the second set with a 9-2 run. They kept the momentum going throughout the set, not allowing a lead change or tie.
Savannah Slattery's kill gave the Lions' the second set win at 25-20.
With only one more set to go, the Lions got off to a slow start in set three, as there were six tie scores and one lead change. Tied at 9-9, a kill from
Emmelyn Walters gave the Lions their first lead of the set, and they did not let Portland come back. The Lions took the third set 25-21, securing the match and their fourth straight home sweep.
Rice led the team in kills with 19, which almost meets her career high of 20. Rice had a .432 hitting percentage. Booth was second in kills with nine. Jessise Prichard led the Lions in assists, with 36, while
Bo Culo lef the team in digs with eight.
Emmelyn Walters led the Lions in total blocks, with four.
The Lions put up 46 kills, compared to the Pilots' 35, while LMU had an overall .330 hitting percentage, while Portland had .116. The Lions had 30 digs and seven total blocks, while Portland had 26 and three.
