LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University volleyball team ( 9-7, 3-1 WCC) will compete in its third match of the week, as the team will host Portland in Gersten Pavilion on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions will host the Pilots coming off of a 1-1 week, as the team pushed No. 9 BYU to five sets, but fell 3-2, and swept Gonzaga 3-0. In LMU's last match against the Bulldogs,
Megan Rice led the team in kills with 17 and had a .406 attack percentage.
Rose Booth leads the team in kills for the season, as she has 215, while
Savannah Slattery has 205 on the season.
Tess Reid is dominating the season in assists, as she leads the team with 442.
The Lions are looking to extend their undefeated home streak, as the team is 3-0 in Gersten Pavilion, with sweeps against Santa Clara, San Francisco and Gonzaga.
Last season, LMU swept Portland, as the Lions won 3-2 on the road, and then swept the Pilots 3-0 at home. The Pilots are currently 8-6 on the season and 0-3 in conference play. The Lions are 55-11 against the Pilots all time.
