The Loyola Marymount University Lions men's soccer team (8-4-3, 3-0-0 WCC) return to the pitch tomorrow night against No. 23 San Diego at Torero Stadium before hosting Santa Clara on Senior Night for the Lions final regular season home match at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Sullivan Field.
The Lions, undefeated in West Coast Conference play, are tied for first with Saint Mary's and enter Wednesday night's match having played each conference game in overtime or double OT.
LMU continues to lead the conference in shots (225) and are tied for third in goals (21), second in saves (53) and are tied for second in shutouts (7).
Head Coach
Paul Krumpe's Lions head into the week having outscored their opponents 21-15, with 11 different players having scored a goal.
Duhaney Williams leads the Lions in points with nine while
Francis Avoce continues to be the pace setter in shots with 42.
The Lions, as a team, have the edge on shots per game over their opponents 15.0-12.3, assists 23-15 and corner kicks 77-65.
In goal,
Jacob Jackson is third in the conference and 27th
nationally in save percentage at 0.792 and fourth in the WCC in saves per game and 99th
in the country at 3.45. Jackson's seven shutouts is good for third in the conference and 23rd
in the nation.
Following Wednesday night's match, the Lions return home on Saturday to face the Santa Clara Broncos for Senior Night.
