The #22 Loyola Marymount University Lions men's soccer team, according to Top Drawer Soccer, return to Sullivan Field and host the UC Irvine Anteaters on Thursday, Oct. 3 with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. before they take their first trip outside the state for a Sunday, Oct. 6 match against Western Michigan.

The Lions and Anteaters continue their series for the sixth straight year with LMU looking to get back in the win column for the first time since the 2016 season when they beat UC Irvine 1-0. The Lions then travel to Kalamzoo for their first ever match against Mid-American Conference foe Western Michigan.

LMU has gotten off to a quick start winning five of their first nine contests, including a 2-0 victory over #23 CSUN. In addition to the hot start the Lions have benefitted from the tremendous play of sophomore goalkeeper Jacob Jackson who earned West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 23.

Jackson's stellar play at goal along with the LMU defense sees the Lions currently ranked fourth in the nation and first in the WCC in save percentage at 0.868.

Additionally, LMU's offense continues to put pressure on opposing defenses as they rank 19th in the nation and first in the conference in shots on goal per game at 6.67. The Lions also rank 33rd in the nation in shots per game with 14.56.

LMU's Francis Avoce has been one of the leaders in the offensive production that head coach Paul Krumpe has gotten from his Lions early on. Avoce is fourth in the conference in shot accuracy at 0.464 to go along with his second place standing in the conference in shots on goal per game at 1.44. Avoce is also third in the conference and 58th in the nation in shots per game with 3.11

The Lions look to improve on their 4-1 record at home tomorrow night before they seek their second win on the road Sunday morning with kickoff set for 10:00 a.m. pacific time.
