LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University volleyball team (10-2, 4-2 WCC) is set to head up north to take on Saint Mary's and Pacific.
The Lions will head into this weekends' matches coming off if a tough 3-1 loss against Pepperdine. The Lions took on the Waves shorthanded, and despite the loss, several Lions put up a strong showing, including,
Megan Rice who had 25 kills and
Tess Reid who had 40 assists.
Savannah Slattery and
Rose Booth are leading the Lions in kills on the season, with 226 and 224 respectively. Reid has tallied a total of 482 assists on the season, while
Meredith Teague is leading the team in service aces with 21.
Last season, the Lions went 2-0 against the Gaels, as LMU swept SMC 3-0 at home, and then won 3-2 on the road. LMU is 47-20 against the Gaels all-time.
The Lions went 1-1 against Pacific last season, with a 3-2 win at home and 3-0 loss in Stockton. The Lions are 4-11 against the Tigers all-time.
The Lions will take on Saint Mary's on Thursday at 7 PM, and will then head to Stockton to take on the Tigers on Saturday at noon.
