The Loyola Marymount University Lions men's soccer team (5-3-3) open West Coast Conference play tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. when the Gonzaga Bulldogs pay a visit to Sullivan Field.

The Lions defense has been the catalyst this season, ranking 22
nd in the nation in shutout percentage at 0.545 and 25
th in the country in team goals against average 0.771. The defense, in conjunction with six shutouts in LMU's first 11 games, has led to opponents finding it hard to score goals on the Lions.

In addition to LMU's defensive prowess the Lions continue to get offensive production from
Francis Avoce who ranks 52
nd in the country in shots per game at 3.18 and 91
st in the country in shots on goal per game with 1.27. While Avoce has been an offensive threat for LMU all season junior
Duhaney Williams has had pinpoint accuracy whenever he puts the ball on goal ranking fourth in the conference in shot accuracy at 0.409.

LMU is looking to build on their current four-game winning streak against the Bulldogs after taking a 1-0 result in Spokane last year. The Lions last defeat against the Bulldogs was during the 2013 season when they dropped a 1-0 decision at Sullivan.Â

The Lions continue their second longest home stand of the season with the last nonconference matchup of the year against Marshall on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7:00 p.m. and wrap up going back into conference play versus Portland on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m.Â
