LOS ANGELES, Calif., --The Loyola Marymount women's basketball team will be back home in Gersten Pavilion after playing its last three games on the road to host BYU on Thursday and San Diego on Saturday. 
 
The Lions (11-10, 4-5) will go into these next two home games coming off of a split weekend, where they beat Pacific 72-67, and fell to Saint Mary's. LMU's game against Pacific included impressive performances from senior Bree Alford, who marked her career high in rebounds with 20, sophomore Chelsey Gipson, who tallied 28 points and sophomore Jasmine Jones, who had 17 points. 
 
Senior Andee Velasco led the Lions against SMC with 15 points, while Alford and Jones had 14 points a piece. Alford's 14 points and 14 rebounds against SMC marked her fifth double-double of the season, the conference's third highest. The senior still holds down the No. 1 spot in the conference in rebounds with 11.7 per game. 
 
The Lions still maintain the No. 1 spot in the conference for offensive rebounds, averaging 15.1 per game. Gipson's 259 total points this season lands her at the No. 5 spot for scoring in the conference, averaging 16.2 points per game. Jones sits at the No. 19 spot averaging 10.9 points per game, while holding down the No. 11 spot in rebounds, averaging 6.5. 
 
This will be the second time this season the Lions have met with the Cougars and the Toreros. In LMU's first meeting with BYU, the team fell on the road 55-44, while beating USD in San Diego 69-52. 
 
The Lions will take on BYU on Thursday at 5 p.m. The game will be a double-header, as the men's basketball team will take on Pacific at 7:30. Both games will be a part of the Recycle Mania Gameday Challenge in Gersten Pavilion. 
 
LMU will be back in action on Saturday to take on USD at 2 p.m., where Girl Scouts will be a part of the halftime show to help the team celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
