Second Leg of PCH Cup Rivalry Set for Hank’s House Saturday

Live Stats | Live Stream (Out-of-Market) | Tickets

LOS ANGELES - The PCH Cup heads south this weekend as Loyola Marymount hosts Pepperdine on Saturday. The 1 p.m. game will be the second meeting of the year between the Lions (13-5, 1-3 WCC) and the Waves (9-10, 2-3 WCC) after the two met in Malibu on opening night of West Coast Conference action.

With just 16 days between contests, the two Southern California schools are very familiar with one another. While Pepperdine took the game at Firestone Fieldhouse on Jan. 3, LMU has defeated the Waves three-straight years in Gersten Pavilion.

In the first meeting, Pepperdine made an opponent-high 11 threes against the Lions and finished with an opponent-most 21 assists in that game.

LMU opened the year with eight-consecutive wins at home, and look to capitalize on the energy of Saturday's LMU Day crowd to get back into the win column. Conversely, Pepperdine started the year 0-6 on the road and picked up their lone win away from Malibu last week at San Diego.

The battle of the boards will be an area to focus in on, and an area that LMU can benefit from. The Lions lead the WCC in rebounding defense at 29.2 per game, whereas the Waves rank last in the conference in rebounding offense with 32.9 per game.

These are two of the top three teams in the conference in turnover margin, with Gonzaga sitting at second. Pepperdine is +4.3 in that category and LMU is 2.2.

Spectrum Sportsnet will televise the game in Los Angeles, as well as NBC Sports Bay Area in Northern California. Outside of those regions, a live stream will be available through TheW.tv.
