LOS ANGELES – A day after being ranked 16
th-nationally in the CWPA Poll, the Loyola Marymount women's Water Polo team has been picked to finish second in the Golden Coast Conference by the league's eight head coaches.
The Lions finished the 2018 season with a matchup against Pacific in the GCC Tournament finals after finishing with a 6-1 conference record in the regular season. Pacific took the game and represented the conference in the NCAA Tournament.
The two teams are once again expected first and second, with the Tigers claiming 48 total points and five first place votes. LMU took the remaining two first place votes and 43 overall points.
The final six games of the regular season are all conference matchups. LMU opens GCC action at home on Mar. 22 against San Diego State, who was picked third with 38 points.
This year's GCC Championships will be played in Fresno from Apr. 26-28.
