Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Offense Strikes in Stockton to give LMU 4-0 Win

STOCKTON, Calif. – Loyola Marymount women's soccer used a season-high four goals to earn a West Coast Conference win on Sunday. The Lions (3-6-4, 1-0-1 WCC) combined the offensive output with a  shutout to top Pacific, 4-0.

"We had a team meeting last night and talked about needing to get goals," said Head Coach Michelle Myers. "Sarina scored a nice one to open the game and then they were literally counting down and we added one more before halftime. It was good to come out in the second half and keep the pressure."

Sarina Bolden put LMU on the board early, scoring her first of two goals in the 10thminute. From the top of the box, Bolden chipped in a pass from Ali King to put LMU ahead.

With the remaining seconds ticking away before the halftime buzzer, Jackie Fiacco doubled LMU's lead with her first goal of the year. Skylar Robledo crossed the ball into Sydney Schultz who found Fiacco with 44:52 on the clock to give the Lions a 2-0 lead just before the half.

The second half was more of the same as Emma Tyrnauer played the ball to Robledo who crossed it in to Bolden who finished her team-high fourth goal of the year to extend the lead to 3-0 in the 66thminute.

In the 80thminute, Robledo tied the program record with her third assist of the game, connecting with Jenna Lafferty for the exclamation point.

Robledo joins Cindy Carullo (10/23/93), Jessica Lyon (11/7/97), and Julie Gallaudet (8/30/09) in the three assist club. As a team, LMU's six assists ties for fifth all-time.

The 4-0 win puts LMU as one of four unbeaten WCC teams through the first weekend of conference play.

"It's a great result, but at the same time were a little disappointed that we didn't get the win on Friday," said Myers. "It was nice to score today and finish those chances."

Conference play continues as LMU's hosts a season-high three straight games at Sullivan Field. The Lions host nationally-ranked Santa Clara on Friday, Oct. 5, San Francisco on Sunday, Oct. 7, then San Diego on Saturday, Oct. 13.
