LOS ANGELES – In a heated battle at Sullivan Field on Thursday night, the Cal State Fullerton Titans (3-2-5) ran away with a 1-0 victory over the LMU Lions (2-7). The match was full of emotion as five yellow cards and two red cards were dealt on the night.

The Titans scored the game's lone goal at the 53:31 mark in the second half, as the teams scrambled in front of the goal and Ross McPhie landed a quick pass to Christian Pinzon who punched it into the back of the net.

CSF finished with 11 total shots while LMU tallied six, with five coming in the second half. The Titans held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks, and the Lions were called for 13 fouls while CSF had nine.

LMU has one non-conference match remaining, at New Mexico on Tuesday, Oct. 2, before WCC play begins next Sunday, Oct. 7, at Santa Clara.
