Opening up the home schedule on Saturday afternoon inside Gersten Pavilion, LMU volleyball (10-1) cruised to a 25-11, 25-16, 23-25, 25-17 win over Lamar University (3-8).

BOX SCORE NOTES
Senior Sara Kovac led all players with 17 kills … junior Savannah Slattery hit .516 over 31 attacks, registering 16 kills … Slattery also served up two of LMU's six team aces … junior setter Tess Reid combined 41 assists with 13 digs to register her fifth double-double of the year, including the second in as many matches … playing at home for the first time in her career, junior Bo Culo served up three aces … Sierra Bartley and Meredith Teague each had seven kills, with Bartley hitting .538 and Teague .462 … senior libero Kekai Whitford also registered a double-double, pairing 12 assists with a match-best 16 digs … the Lions hit .350 or better in the first, second and fourth sets, with the highwater mark coming in the finale (.448) … Lamar was held under .250 hitting in all but the third set … Ivette Dim led the attack for Lamar, collecting 10 kills, but the Cardinals hit just .147 as a team.

LION NOTES
LMU's 10-1 record to start the season is the best since beginning the 2014 campaign 12-0 … outside of the third-set setback, LMU led virtually the entire match, playing to two tie scores and one lead change – both coming early in the second set … despite trailing 18-10 in the third set, LMU made that period close, eventually drawing within a point at 24-23 by way of a late run that carried momentum into the fourth … the Lions are now averaging 15.05 assists per set and 15.93 kills per set – both tops in the nation entering this week … LMU improves to 5-0 in four-set matches this year.
