ANOTHER SECOND-SET TURNAROUND
LMU's run on the momentum came in the second set of the win over Hofstra on Friday, and the same was true in the second set on Saturday … the Lions trailed 10-6 early in the period, but eventually took the lead at 12-11 following back-to-back service aces from Slattery … Slattery then connected for a kill to run LMU's advantage to 19-15 and force a Temple timeout before the Lions captured the set on a Temple attack error.
LION ATTACK HITS .515 IN THE THIRD
LMU led virtually the entire way in the third set, but the two teams played to seven tie scores, including finding themselves knotted at 18 late in the period … LMU, which hit .515 in the stanza, earned two big points from there, as
Bo Culo found the floor in front of a
Kekai Whitford service ace that forced a Temple timeout … after a Slattery kill pushed LMU to 24-22,
Emma Johnson put the set away with her third kill of the set … Slattery finished the period with five kills on nine attacks, while Kovac managed six on 10 errorless swings.
CLOSING IT OUT
After another back-and-forth start to the set that saw LMU and Temple even at 15-15, LMU made its run, eventually building a 20-16 lead on back-to-back kills from Slattery … the Lions moved to match point at 24-19 on Culo's 15

QUOTABLE
"The team showed a lot of resilience in losing the first game against Hofstra and Temple and winning both of the matches in four. We kept learning and getting better as all the matches went on. This weekend was a great indication of the work we put in during double days, and it's exciting to see all of the areas we can improve in going forward. When everyone does their jobs within our system, we are tough to beat." – Head Coach
Aaron Mansfield
