Los Angeles, CA (April 23) - No. 17 UC San Diego scored nine first half goals to coast to a 13-3 win over Cal State Hayward in the first day of the 2004 Western Water Polo Association Championships at Loyola Marymount University.
UC San Diego improves to 14-19 on the season and advances to the semifinals on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. against UC Davis. CS Hayward falls to 15-19 overall and will play in Game 12 at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
Four players scored at least two goals for UC San Diego as they never trailed. Jaemi Jackson had three tallies on the day. CS Hayward played a five overtime thriller earlier in the day to advance.
