Los Angeles, CA (April 23) - Kristin Carter's hat-trick lifted Chapman University to a 8-7 win over UC Santa Cruz in the second game of the Western Water Polo Championships at Burns Recreation Center on Friday afternoon.
Trailing 7-4 heading into the fourth, UC Santa Cruz would fight back to get within one. Renae Logston scored to cut the lead to a pair, 7-5 with 4:06 remaining. Lauren Donnelly-Crocker would get the Banana Slugs to within one.
Chapman's Teri Bartel answered with 3:05 remaining to give the Panthers an 8-6 lead. It was needed as Emily Ersking scored her third goal of the game with 29 seconds remaining to make the score 8-7.
