Los Angeles, CA (April 25) - The 12th-ranked UC Davis Aggies finished the 2004 Western Water Polo Association Championships in third place thanks to a 12-4 win over Cal State Bakersfield in the third place game on Sunday afternoon at Loyola Marymount University.
UC Davis took control of the game early and never looked back. The Aggies, who improves to 21-11 on the season, score four unanswered goals to start the game with a 4-0 lead. After Bakersfield cut the lead to 4-2, UC Davis scored eight unanswered to take third in the WWPA.
Cal State Bakersfield takes fourth and falls to 13-13 on the season.
Tiffany Hodgens led the Aggies with four goals, all coming in the first half. Alli Johnstone added a pair as eight players scored for the UC Davis. CS Bakersfield had four different players score goals.
