Game #11 - Santa Clara Advances To Fifth Place Game

Los Angeles, CA (April 24) - Santa Clara University, playing in their second game of the day, used a 13-7 victory over Chapman Saturday to advance to the fifth place game of the 2004 Western Water Polo Association Championships.

The Broncos used four goals from both Katy Shumm and Catherine Flynn to improve to 19-16 overall on the season and advance to the fifth place game on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. against the winner of Cal State Hayward and CS San Bernardino. Chapman falls to 17-12 and will play in the seventh place game at 10:15 a.m.

Santa Clara took a 3-2 lead after one and then a 6-4 lead after two thanks to five different players scoring. They broke the game open with a four-goal third. Allison Stone and Marci Myer had two goals each for Chapman.
