LOS ANGELES -- Loyola Marymount men's basketball has announced the signing of Ivan Alipiev from Sofia, Bulgaria. The 6'7'' shooter will join the Lions for the 2018-19 season as an incoming freshman.
"We found a gem," said Head Coach Mike Dunlap. "He's the exact piece to the puzzle that we needed. He's an outside shooter with a reputation and we're looking forward to adding him here."
Alipiev plays for BUBA Basketball in Bulgaria, where he is averaging 17.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.3 steals.
He had a tremendous 2017 FIBA U18 European Championships where his numbers were 20.5 points per game, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.3 while playing for his home country.
