The #48 LMU men's tennis team (13-2, 3-0 WCC) improved to 3-0 in West Coast Conference play, defeating Pacific (5-14, 2-3 WCC) by a score of 4-1 on the road at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

The Lions earned the doubles point behind victories on courts two and three. Lukas Moenter / Charles Boyce defeated Tadiwa Chinamo / Ross Watson, 6-3, on court two before Diego Nava / Errol Smith clinched the point with a 6-4 win on court three.

Pacific managed to draw even in the match score with a win on court four from Akram El Sallaly, but LMU's singles play proved strong the rest of the way.

Smith claimed a point on court three with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Bernardo Oliveira, handing LMU a 2-1 lead in the match score, and extending his win streak to eight straight. Gabriel Diaz Freire followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win at the top of the order, setting the table for Borchenko's 6-4, 7-6 (7) clinching win on court five. Borchenko has now won 12 straight matches overall.

"Today was another tough match that we were able to claw our way through," head coach Tom Lloyd said. "Our guys responded well today, and some good things came to the surface. We are looking forward to a home swing this coming week."

LMU will return to action on Saturday, April 7 when it hosts Gonzaga at 1 p.m.
