WCC Singles/Doubles Pair of the Week

The West Coast Conference has named Loyola Marymount's Errol Smith the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week and the San Diego duo of Joel Gamerov and August Holmgren the Doubles Team of the Week.

Smith earns his second honor of the season after winning the clinching point in No. 43 LMU's only match last week â€" a 4-1 victory over WCC and PCH Cup rival Pepperdine on Saturday to open conference play. Smith, playing on court three, defeated Lautaro Pane, 7-6 (11), 6-2 to earn LMU's fourth singles point of the match. The victory over Pepperdine was the first in program history, snapping a string of 26 straight losses to the Waves. Smith has now won six straight decisions overall in singles play, and improves to 9-1 on the year.

Gamerov and Holmgren repeat as the Doubles Team of the Week after closing the week with a dominating 6-1 victory in the number one spot against defending regular season team champion Portland. The duo improve to 2-1 in the No. 1 position.
