WCC Release
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Following the conclusion of the regular season, the West Coast Conference has announced the All-WCC Major Awards and Team Members. LMU has three players included with
Sarina Bolden earning All-WCC Second Team honors,
Shelby Cormier earning Honorable Mention Team recognition, and
Jalyn Lupo representing the Lions on the WCC All-Freshman team.
Sarina Bolden led the Lions with six goals and 13 points this season. Her six goal season matches her previous career-best when she scored six times as a sophomore in 2016. Bolden scored two game-winning goals this season, one in the non-conference against Northeastern and one as part of LMU's WCC win at Pacific. Bolden's career marks put her at fourth all-time in program history in goals per game (0.25), fifth in goals (18), and sixth in points (43).
Shelby Cormier was a constant on LMU's back line, leading all field players with 1869 minutes played, an average of 93.45 minutes per game. Cormier played and started every game for the Lions. Cormier scored a goal in the come-from-behind road tie at Long Beach State and added an assist in the road conference game at Gonzaga.
Jalyn Lupo becomes LMU's 18
thselection to the WCC All-Freshman team, with the Lions being represented on the team for the fifth-straight season. In Lupo's first year on the Bluff, she played in the final 19 games of the season, earning 15 straight starts to close out the year. Lupo finished third on the team with six points after recording two goals and two assists. Lupo scored against non-conference opponents Loyola-Chicago and UC Irvine, and added assists against Indiana and in the PCH Cup at Pepperdine.
