LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Loyola Marymount University men's basketball is back on U.S. soil and set to continue the year with a season-long three-game homestand at Gersten Pavilion. The action picks up right away with Central Connecticut State coming for a Wednesday night game, in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

The 7 p.m. matchup will feature two teams that are coming off wins Sunday at the Jamaica Classic, with the Lions topping Ohio and the Blue Devils getting the best of LMU's Saturday opponent, Florida A&M.

The LMU defense continues to shine, allowing just 53.0 points per game this season, the 11th-bestmark in the NCAA. It all stems from the three-point defense, which the Lions are holding opponents under 20 percent from long range, the sixth-best percentage in Division I.

And that's just when teams get to shoot. James Batemonand Joe Quintanarank 1-2 in the West Coast Conference each with double-digits total steals through the first five games.

The Lions open the season at 5-0 for just the fourth time in school history, and first since 2003-04. No LMU basketball team has begun a year at 6-0. This year's start has gained attention from national media as LMU is now receiving votes in the Week 3 AP Poll released on Monday, November 19.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. on Wednesday with tip scheduled for 7 p.m.
