MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica – Following a Friday night win over Georgetown, the Jamaica Classic continues with four games on Sunday. The Lions (4-0) play in the third game of the day against Ohio University.
For the second time this season,
James Batemon willed LMU to a come-from-behind victory with 22 of his 27 points coming after trailing in the first half. Batemon finished a perfect 13-for-13 from the line in the win over Georgetown, all coming after halftime. The team finished at a season-best 88 percent (22-for-25) from the line, marking a season-high in both makes and attempts.
Mattias Markusson leads WCC players with 16 offensive rebounds this season, averaging 4.0 a game. Markusson grabbed five on the offensive glass against the Hoyas.
The Lions are 4-0 for the first time since 2013-14, and have won each of the first four games by double-figures for the first time in program history. The 2003-04 Lions started the season with five consecutive wins.
The Bobcats entered the tournament unbeaten, but dropped their opener at the Montego Bay Convention Center to South Florida, 73-46. This will mark the first all-time meeting between LMU and Ohio.
