LOS ANGELES – Loyola Marymount men's basketball returns to Gersten Pavilion on Tuesday following a true road win at UNLV on Saturday. The Lions (2-0) take their unbeaten up against Cal State Northridge (0-1), a team with only one game under their belts following the fires-related postponement of their scheduled game at Pepperdine.

"We worked on some simple things at practice to get better," said Head Coach Mike Dunlap. "They will be coming in here fresh, licking their chops. Whatever the variables are, I think the key is to adjust. If your guys see that your leadership is unsettled by that, which we aren't, then you look forward to the opportunity. Right now we just want to play games."

LMU boasts an early unbeaten record largely in part to the stellar play defensively in the opening week of the season. Westcliff and UNLV combined to shoot 36.7 percent from the field in two games against the Lions and have turned the ball over at least 20 times apiece. The turnover discrepancy between LMU and opponents is in favor of the Lions, 26-44. LMU leads the West Coast Conference in steals (20) and turnover margin (+9.0) through the first week of the season.

James Batemon has been the leading scorer in each of LMU's wins to date. His 19.0 points per game in the early goings rank in a tie for sixth in the WCC, and his seven steals are tied for 12thin the NCAA.

The Matadors played their season opener at home on Nov. 6, losing by a possession to New Mexico, 87-84. Lamine Diane made 15 field goals and finished with 34 points in the tight loss. CSUN's second scheduled game was postponed until further notice.

LMU won in The Matadome in 2017-18, and carry a four-game win streak against their local opponent. This will be the fourth consecutive season the two have played each other, after picking up the competition in 2015 for the first time since a 2003 home win in Gersten Pavilion.

The game is a 6 p.m. scheduled start and will stream live on TheW.tv. LMU is scheduled for an early-morning flight the following day to begin the travel to the Jamaica Classic.

A "Taco Tuesday" student tailgate is scheduled to kick-off gameday with 250 student MADNESS winners invited to attend and wear their blue shirt.
