LOS ANGELES – For the first time in program history, Loyola Marymount women's soccer recorded back-to-back shutouts to begin the West Coast Conference stretch of their season. The Lions (3-6-4, 1-0-1 WCC) will look to extend that shutout streak into a pair of home games this week, with #4 Santa Clara and San Francisco coming to Sullivan Field.
The fourth-ranked Broncos (10-1-1, 1-0 WCC) join LMU as one of four teams to survive the first week of conference play without suffering a loss. Santa Clara carries a seven-match unbeaten streak into Friday's game, which started following their only loss of the year, a 4-0 setback to the same Texas A&M team that LMU faced opening weekend.
Fans are encouraged to wear navy to Friday's game to support the Lions. Exclusive LMU Soccer navy shirts will be given to the first 100 fans. LMU Faculty & Staff members who have impacted our players' experiences on the Bluff will be recognized at halftime.
San Francisco (7-5, 0-1) will open their road trip at Pepperdine on Friday before heading to the Bluff to face LMU Sunday at 1 p.m. The Dons faced Santa Clara in their lone conference match last week, falling 3-2 to the fourth-ranked Broncos.
All elementary & middle school students at participating schools who have reached their academic goals will be invited out to redeem one complimentary ticket and up to four discounted tickets to Sunday's game. The team will be signing autographs immediately following the match outside the entrance to the seating areas. Call the LMU Ticket Office at 310-338-1623 to reserve your seats!
Both games will be feature live stats and a live stream. Links are located above.
