Lions Serve Up Victory Over San Francisco

LMU recorded nine service aces, including five in the final set.

After recording four aces over the first three sets, LMU volleyball (16-6, 6-5 WCC) exploded for five aces in the final set en route to capturing a 25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22 victory over San Francisco (8-14, 1-10 WCC) on Thursday night from Gersten Pavilion.

BOX SCORE NOTES
Senior Sara Kovac led all players with 21 kills – two off her career high set on August 31 vs. Cal Poly … Kovac hit .364 with an ace, five digs and one block assist … the Lions hit .259 as a team, with Tess Reid dishing out 50 assists to accompany four aces, 11 digs, two block solos and three block assists … Bo Culo collected 13 kills to go along with 11 digs to record her second double-double of the season … San Francisco hit just .211 for the match, but three Don players managed double-digit kills, including Kathya Garcia with 12 … Emily Zinger, who had 10 kills, contributed six block assists to help guide USF to 14 team blocks … Marjolijn Oskam also had six block assists, while Katie Wagstaff posted two block solos and four block assists … the Dons served up seven aces, including two from Garcia and Ally Wada … LMU's blocking game impressed as well, with Reid guiding LMU to eight team blocks.

LION NOTES
LMU snapped a three-match losing streak with the win … the double-double was Reid's eighth of the year … LMU has recorded at least two aces in all but one match this year.
