The LMU Men's Soccer earned their first win of the season as a multi-goal effort led to a 2-0 shutout of UNC Asheville. The Lions outshot the Bulldogs 26-10 and improve to 1-2-0 in the young season.
Senior Griffin Bell provided what would stand as the eventual game-winning goal in the 40th minute. Bell was able to control a high bounced ball and send it into the net, putting the Lions on top early.
Alvaro Madrigal added to the Lions led scoring his first goal of the season in the 75th minute. A cross from John Bovill went pass the keeper and Madrigal was able to tap it past the Bulldogs.
Collin Partee anchored the first shutout for the Lions, coming up with three big saves.
LMU is back on Sullivan Field Sunday in another double header. The Women open at 1pm taking on Columbia, before the Men hit the pitch at 4:30pm against Penn State. If you can't make it to the game watch the live stream here.
