LOS ANGELES - In their first test of the season, the Loyola Marymount men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw Wednesday night at Sullivan Field. The Lions scored first on a John Bovill finish in the 24th minute, and CSUB equalized late with a free kick in the game's final fourteen minutes.
Bovill collected a header up the line from Grant Sampson and used his speed to carry it down the field towards the net. Bovill was able to slot home the finish and give LMU the early lead.
The Roadrunners capitalized late on a free kick just outside the box in the 77th minute. Jacob Alatorre went around the wall to equal the score and earn the draw.
LMU will get one more exhibition test on Saturday evening at Cal State Northridge.
