2017 Beach Volleyball WCC All-Academic Team

The West Coast Conference announced the 2017 West Coast Conference Beach Volleyball All-Academic Team, and LMU's Sarah Sponcil and Erin Williams found themselves on the list. Sponcil earned a spot on the first team, while Williams was tabbed honorable mention.

Sponcil, the WCC Player of the Year, owns a 3.25 GPA as a sociology major, while Williams carries a 3.47 GPA as a film production major.

This season, 14 WCC honorees turned in a GPA of 3.5 or higher and seven posted a 3.75 GPA or better. Two members find themselves on the All-Academic team for the second consecutive time in Kirsten Mead of Santa Clara and Delaney Knudsen of Pepperdine.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to her team.
