The LMU Softball team finished their season today against San Diego. LMU dropped both games to USD, 1-0 and 4-1 respectively. Prior to game one, the Lions honored the four seniors, Amanda Dirks, Andy Wellins, Rachael Farrington and Alex Finie.
Game one for the Lions saw another pitcher's duel, USD and LMU were scoreless into the 3rd. The two teams combined to strike out eight batters. LMU threatened with runners getting on base every innings but they could never get that run across.
Irma Sanchez continued her dominance at the plate, hitting 3-for-4 for the second game in a row, the only Lion to earn multi-hits that game.
On the mound Hannah Bandimere threw a complete game allowing 8 hits, allowing just one earned run and striking out four Toreros.
In the final game on Smith Field this season Brooke Christensen got the Lions on the board first with a monster home run to left field. However, one run proved to not be enough in this game when USD put up four runs with one swing. Sanchez and Christensen both finished the game 2-for-3.
