Mission Bay, Calif. â€" The San Diego Crew Classic featured over 100 races on Saturday and Sunday in the annual two-day regatta. The Loyola Marymount women's rowing team competed in three events on Saturday and three on Sunday.

The highlight of the event was LMU's second place finish in the Women's Collegiate Varsity 8+ Cup to advance the Lions to Sunday's Grand Final. LMU finished in 6:53.44 between Tennessee's 6:50.69 and George Washington's 6:56.44. The Lions took fifth in the Grand Final on Sunday, improving their time to 6:49.68

LMU took fourth in the second heat of the Women's Collegiate 2V 8+ crossing the line in 7:02.33, and finished in fifth in the Petite Final on Sunday in 7:10.84.

The Novice 8+ Laurel Korholz Trophy Prelim had the Lions crossing in 7:35.93 to take seventh. In the Grand Final, LMU lowered its time to 7:26.54.
