March 23, 2017 Box Score
Los Angeles, Calif. - The Lions, who are now 12-17 on the season, hosted the first of a three-game series against Cal State Fullerton earlier today.
LMU took the lead in the bottom of the third when the Lions strung together three back to back hits. With 2 outs Taylor Lockwood knocked a base hit to right field, followed by double down the left filed line by Irma Sanchez, her 5th this season. Caitlin Harman followed the pair with an infield single scoring Lockwood and giving LMU the 1-0 lead.
Amanda Dirks extended her on base streak to 10 straight games when she lead off the 4th with a home run. Dirks gave the Lions a 2-0 lead in what proved to be the last time a Lion crossed the plate in the game.
In the circle, Rachael Farrington held the Titians to 1 hit until the 6th inning. However, Fullerton was able to connect with a pitch in the 6th and earned a 3-run homerun to give them the 3-2 lead.
LMU looks to take on the Titians again tomorrow for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
