Long Beach, Calif. - LMU fell 6-2 against Utah Monday afternoon following a rain delay and a field change. The teams were originally scheduled for a double header at Smith Field, but after assessing the weather and field conditions it was rescheduled for a single game at Long Beach State.
The Lions (4-6) were held to just 4 hits by the Utes. Caitlin Harman went deep for her second homerun of the season, breaking up Utah's Katie Donovan's 33 scoreless inning streak. LMU threated in the fourth with three back-to-back hits by Amanda Dirks, Brooke Christensen and Lindsey Matoi, but only one more run would score for the Lions.
LMU is back home this weekend to take on the Big Ten's Michigan State for a three game series.
