Sept. 5, 2016 SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Junior forward Pilar Torres of the LMU women's soccer team has been named the WCC Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday.
Torres has made an immediate impact on the Lions attack after transferring from Wake Forest, and was instrumental in leading the Lions to a pair of non-conference victories Labor Day Weekend.
The Encinitas, California native netted her first career goal as a Lion at No. 18 Long Beach State on Friday night, scoring 16 minutes into play to pace LMU to a 2-1 win to hand the Beach its first loss of the season.
She followed with another score as part of a 4-0 rout of Ball State on Sunday as the Lions secured their 12th straight win at Sullivan Field.
LMU will head to USC on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. matchup, which can be seen live on the Pac-12 Network.
