LOS ANGELES - From the minute he took over as the head coach of LMU men's basketball, Mike Dunlap has put together a staff that brings a wide range of experience to the program, and a lot of it. That continues with the hiring of Jeff Strohm as the Director of Operations. Strohm who has over 25 years experience at multiple levels of coaching rounds out the Lions' staff heading into 2016-17.

Strohm first started his coaching career while still an undergraduate at Eastern Illinois, serving has an assistant coach for the varsity programs at Casey Westfield High School (1987-88) and Sullivan High School (1988-89). Since he has spent his career in the sport of basketball, coaching or recruiting a list of NBA players (15) that includes Andrew Bogut (Utah), Michael Doleac (Utah), Courtney Lee (Western Kentucky), Wes Matthews (Marquette), Andre Miller (Utah), Steve Novak (Marquette), and Dwayne Wade (Marquette), .

"We are very fortunate to have Jeff joining our staff," said Head Coach Mike Dunlap. "He brings a wide range of experience that will help our program move forward. He has had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the top coaches in the sport of basketball while serving as a mentor to countless players who havehad the opportunity to play professionally. He will really help our program."

Strohm was an assistant coach at Tulane before joining the Lions and comes to LMU excited to learn and grow himself.

"This is a great opportunity for me to learn from and grow with Coach Dunlap, his staff, and these players," said Strohm. "Coach Dunlap is known worldwide as one of the top teachers of the game and it is a great opportunity to be on his staff. LMU is leading educational institute, it is in a great conference, has great leadership and has a foundation in place to achieve success. This is going to be a fun and challenging opportunity. I am excited, honored and humbled to be here."

Prior to Tulane, Strohm was an assistant coach at Western Kentucky (2005-07), where the program went 45-19 in his two seasons. He coached Courtney Lee, who was the conference player of the year at WKU in 2008. He also recruited and coached 2012 NBA All Star Slam Dunk Champion Jeremey Evans. Prior to the Hilltopers, he was with Marquette from 2002-05.

With the Golden Eagles he had the opportunity to coach and mentor Conference USA Player of the Year Dwayne Wade. Behind the future Hall of Famer, Marquette posted a 27-6 record that season. In his three years with Marquette they went 65-30, including a trip to the 2003 Final Four. He recruited or coached future NBA players Travis Diener, Steve Novak, Wes Matthews, and Jerel McNeal while at Marquette.

Strohm joined the Golden Eagles' staff after serving a five-year stint as a member of the University of Utah's basketball staff. During his tenure at Utah, the program compiled an overall record of 121-39, made four trips to the NCAA Tournament, including a berth in the 1998 national title game, and one appearance in the NIT. He recruited or coached future NBA players Michael Doleac, Andre Miller, Hanno Mottola, Britton Johnsen, Lance Allred, and NBA Number One draft pick Andrew Bogut.

"Jeff brings organization, a solid work ethic and enthusiasm," said Dunlap. "He has exceptional knowledge and expertise, especially at Marquette and his five years at the University of Utah under Rick Majerus. He was a part of extremely successful runs at both institutions."

The owner of 26 years of coaching at the collegiate level, Strohm was also an assistant coach at Northern Illinois from 1991-97. While at NIU, the 1995-96 team advanced to the NCAA Tournament while the squad's 20-10 record represented the third-most wins in school history. He was also the recruiting coordinator for Lake Land College in Mattoon, Ill., from 1989-91 before joining the Northern Illinois staff. Strohm coached in the prep ranks as an assistant at Casey Westfield High School (1987-88) and Sullivan High School (1988-89).

Strohm has coached four Academic All-Americans; Drew Hanson, Hanno Mottola and Michael Doleac at Utah, and T.J. Lux at Northern Illinois. He has also coached 5 All Americans, including consensus player of the year Andrew Bogut.

A native of Marshall, Illinois, Strohm attended Olney Central College for two seasons before finishing his education at Eastern Illinois University where he received a bachelor's degree in education in 1988 and a master's degree in education in 1990.

Jeff's family includes his three daughters Sydney, Jordin, and Rylee. Strohm and his family support the National Urea Disorders Foundation.
