Men's Soccer Faces Midweek Test at UC Irvine

LOS ANGELES - Following a four-game homestand, the LMU men's soccer team will hit the road for the first time of September as they travel to UC Irvine for a 7 p.m. match on Wednesday.

Last Time Out
Two first half goals were all the Lions needed as it shutout UC Davis, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at Sullivan Field.

Sahid Conteh and Lucky Puengrod each tabbed a goal apiece, with Conteh's coming just three minutes into play while Puengrod struck at the 30-minute mark.

Instant Impact
Sunday's contest marked the first time two freshmen tabbed scores since Sept. 20, 2013, when Mark Dotseth and Adrien Perez each snapped a goal in a 4-0 shutout of Sacramento State.

Season Ticket Info
Wednesday's contest was originally slated to be a home game for LMU and season tickets were issued before the game was switched to be played at UC Irvine. All season ticket holders should note that the game will not be at home despite what the schedule on the season tickets displays.

Clocking In
Mark Dotseth and Cole Souza are the only two members of the Lions who have been on the field every minute so far. The duo logged the most minutes on the team a season ago as Souza played every minute possible (1,626) while Dotseth ranked second with 1,559.

Meanwhile, Collin Parte has played every minute in net so far, recording a .082 GAA and 31 saves.

Scouting UC Irvine
UC Irvine enters Wednesday's contest with a 1-4-0, though its lone win has come on its home turf in a 1-0 shutout of Grand Canyon on Sept. 2. Despite the record, the Anteaters have faced formidable foes in No. 1 Notre Dame and No. 4 Indiana to start their season.

The Series
LMU reeled off four straight wins against UC Irvine before the Anteaters broke the streak with a 3-2 decision in double overtime in the previous meeting Sept. 18, 2014. UC Irvine holds the 9-10-1 edge in the all-time series, though each team has gone 4-5 on its home field.

LMU will host its final non-conference home match on Sunday, Sept. 18 against CSU Bakersfield. Kick off is set for 4 p.m.
