LOS ANGELES - The LMU campus will be full of activity this coming weekend as it is the official start of the school year on Monday, Aug. 29. And with it comes Move-in Weekend Aug. 26-28. A pair of Sweet 16 teams will get the 2016-17 sports campaign started with the first regular season home games of the year.

The LMU volleyball team, ranked 21st heading into the new season, will begin the follow-up campaign to their 2015 Sweet 16 with the annual LMU Invitational. Four teams will play six games on Friday and Saturday, highlighted by the Lions hosting UCLA on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 7 pm. The tournament will get started on Friday night, welcoming families back to campus on the first move-in day of the year.

Then on Sunday, the women's soccer team returns home for their first home game when they host CSU Bakersfield on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 1 pm. The Lions, who also advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2015 thanks in large part to a 10-0 home record, will look to extend that home winning streak to start at 10-game home schedule on the season.
