LOS ANGELES - LMU men's basketball added four new faces to the roster heading into the 2016-17 season, and they bring a very diverse background to the Lions' roster. The LMU Sports Network caught up with the four newcomers and talked the them about being #LIONSTRONG.
New to the Lions roster are transfers Stefan Jovanovic and Trevor Manuel along with freshmen Mattias Markusson and Donald Gipson. They along with the entire Lions' roster have been together for the second semester, getting in workouts while attending classes.
They talk about the adjustment to LMU, their role on the team-first Lions, and what it means to be #LIONSTRONG.

Stefan Jovanovic - a 6-11 center; native of Serbia; played locally for Bishop Montgomery, graduated in 2013; played all 34 games in 2015-16 for a Hawaii team that finished 28-6 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He will be immediately eligible to play his senior season in 2016-17
Trevor Manuel - a 6-9 forward; from Lansing, Mich.; transferred to LMU at mid-year from Oregon and will be eligible to play as a sophomore at the end of the 2016 fall semester.; A highly regarded product of Everett High School in Lansing, Mich.
Mattias Markusson - a 7-1 center; native of Vasterled, Stockholm, Sweden; played the last two seasons for Jamtland Basket in Sweden, playing at both the first and second division; played on the Sweden national team.
Donald Gipson - a 6-3 guard; native of Los Angeles, Calif.; played locally at Fairfax HS; helped Fairfax to a ranking as as fifth in the nation in the USA Today Super 25 High School poll. Fairfax made it to the CIF Southern Section regional finals, finishing 32-3 a year ago.
The 2016-17 season begins in November, with the regular season opener slated for Nov. 11.
