LOS ANGELES - Ashley Hamilton, who scored 1,172 points and grabbed 654 rebounds in his career with LMU men's basketball, has been one of 24 players named by British Basketball for this summer's Eurobasket 2017 Qualification games.
In early August, 16 players will then be invited to attend training camp in Portugal in early August. GB will play preparation games against Germany and Portugal and then head to Slovenia a week later. Preparation will be completed in Manchester, where there will be an eagerly awaited home game against the Netherlands on August 27th.
The EuroBasket 2017 qualifiers begin with a trip to Hungary on Wednesday August 31st to face Hungary, before three back-to-back games at the Copper Box. FYR of Macedonia arrive first on Saturday September 3rd, Luxembourg follow on Wednesday September 7th and Hungary face the reverse fixture on Saturday September 10th.
Hamilton played from 2008-09, serving a medical redshirt his first season in 2008-09. He graduated in 2013 with his best season as a redshirt senior. He scored 438 points (12.9 ppg) with 243 (7.1 pg). He is ranked 22nd all-time in scoring and 13th in rebounds.
