LOS ANGELES - LMU soccer fans will see much more of their Lions this coming fall as the 2016 men's soccer schedule has been released. The 22-match slate includes 10 contests to be played on Sullivan Field, along with four total opponents who appeared in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

The Lions, who played just seven matches on their home pitch in 2015, begin the 2016 season on Saturday, Aug. 13, hosting an exhibition match against Westmont College. They then head out on the road for three straight, beginning with an exhibition match at Cal Poly (Aug. 21). The road stretch continues as the season officially begins with an East Coast swing where they will face Colgate (Aug. 26) and 2015 College Cup finalist Syracuse (Aug. 28).

LMU returns to Sullivan Field for four straight, and five of their next six. The Lions will host Florida Gulf Coast (Sept. 2), Grand Canyon (Sept. 5), Sacramento State (Sept. 9), UC Davis (Sept. 11) and CSU Bakersfield (Sept. 18). A quick trip to UC Irvine (Sept. 14) is sandwiched in the mix.

The Lions then close out non-conference play on the road at UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 21), San Jose State (Sept. 25) and New Mexico (Oct. 4).

The quest for the 2016 West Coast Conference title, and an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament begins at Sullivan Field on Oct. 9 against San Diego. The Lions also host WCC rivals Pacific (Oct. 14), Saint Mary's (Oct. 16) and San Francisco (Nov. 12), while traveling to face Portland (Oct. 28), Gonzaga (Oct. 30) and Santa Clara (Nov. 6).

The Toreros and Broncos tied for the 2015 WCC title as the Lions finished 9-9-0 overall and 4-3-0 in WCC play one year ago. But LMU is no stranger to the league crown or the NCAA Tournament, earning WCC championships in 2010 and 2013 while boasting six NCAA appearances since 2001.

Season tickets are now on sale for the 2016 LMU men's soccer season! The $40 general admission ticket grants the bearer admission to all 10 Lion home matches, as well as a 2016 commemorative scarf.
