May 1, 2016 LMU men's rowing earned gold medals in both the Novice 4+ and Varsity 4+ races while competing at the 2016 Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships from the Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, Calif. over the weekend.
In addition to the two golds, LMU also took home a second-place finish in the pairs, and a fifth-place finish in the Varsity 8+.

2016 WIRA Results
LMU turned in a time of 7:10.600 to win its heat of the Novice 4+ before improving the time to 7:01.300 in the Final to win the gold.
While the Final results have yet to be posted for the Varsity 4+, LMU reached the Final by way of a 7:01.500 to win the qualifying heat.
Competing in the 2-, LMU's pair registered a time of 7:43.700 in the heat, but dropped a close race to UCSB in the Grand Final to take second. LMU's pair turned in a time of 7:34.100 in the Final.
LMU's women's rowing team will now prepare for the 2016 West Coast Conference Championships on May 14.
