LOS ANGELES - The final game of Day One at the 2016 ZUMO LMU Invitational was the best of the day as 14th-ranked LMU and 10th-ranked San Jose State needed five overtime frames to come to a decision.

And it was San Jose State who got the winner, 10-9. The teams each scored a goal in the two three minute overtime periods and then they needed three sudden-death overtime frames to settle it. McKenna Yates scored with 1:06 to play on a lob shot in the top-right corner to give the Spartans (11-10) the win.
The Lions dropped a pair to ranked opponents on the day, falling to 19th-ranked Harvard, 7-4, in game three of the tournament. The Lions fall to 7-14 on the season.
Freshman goalie Sky Flores was big for the Lions, making 26 saves in the two games, grabbing 11 in the first game and then making 15 in the five overtime thriller.
The Lions struggled offensively in the first game, hitting just four of 22 shots. In the second game, Ashtynn Nelson and Hana Vilanova led the Lions with three goals each as they went 9-for-31.
