The LMU women's rowing team raced a trio of boats against Pac-12 power UCLA last Saturday from the Jane Browne Bove Boathouse in Marina Del Rey, Calif. The day featured a strong incoming tide (head current) and 6-8 MPH headwind increasing throughout the morning.
LMU competed in the varsity 8 race, finishing with a time of 7:26.20 behind UCLA's mark of 7:10.40. LMU's second varsity 8 finished in 7:58.00, behind UCLA at 7:40.80.
In the third and final race for the Lions, LMU's varsity four crossed the line at 9:18.30, behind a pair of Bruin boats in 8:27.43 and 8:34.51, respectively.
Both the LMU women and men will return to action on March 19 when the women compete at the Berg Cup in Newport Beach, Calif, and the men host the Parker Cup in the Marina.
