LOS ANGELES - Like the first match-up for LMU against Gonzaga in Spokane before Christmas when they 60 percent from the field, the Bulldogs were efficient in all stages of the game in the second meeting. It was the same script in Los Angeles, as Gonzaga earned a 92-63 win over LMU in West Coast Conference action on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs shot better than 60 percent for the majority of the game and finished hitting 56.9 percent (37-for-65). They shot 27-for-45 in the first meeting. The Lions finished the game shooting 40.7 percent but hit just 2-for-15 from three (13.3 percent).
"We once again had a stretch in the desert. We got it to 25-20 and then just couldn't score," said Head Coach Mike Dunlap. "And we again struggled to hit shots. Its a similar theme. Can't win if you don't hit shots."
Adom Jacko had his fifth straight 20-point game, scoring 23 points with seven rebounds. Petr Herman was the other Lion in double figures, scoring 10 points.
The duo of Kyle Wiltjer and Domantas Sabonis were extremely efficient. Wiltjer finishd with 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting while Sabonis had a double-dboule with 21 points and 11 rebounds, hitting 9-for-14 from the field.
