LOS ANGELES - The final day of the 2015-16 regular season was one of the more thrilling in recent memory within the West Coast Conference. LMU basketball produced a sweep of Wells Fargo PCH Cup rival Pepperdine, including men's hoops with a double overtime thriller at Gersten Pavilion. With the conclusion of the season, the bracket is set for the 2015 WCC Basketball Championships from Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Mar. 3-8.
The Lions finished the regular season with back-to-back overtime wins to move into a tie for seventh overall in the standings. They enter the tournament at 13-16 overall and 6-12 in the WCC, earning the No. 8 seed.
They will open the 2016 WCC Championships taking on San Diego on Friday, Mar. 4 at 6 pm. The teams split the season series, each winning on their home floor.
The Toreros also finished the regular season with a win, knocking off Portland 85-76 thanks to a USD single-game record 38 points from senior Duda Sanadze. They enter the tournament at 9-20 overall and 4-14 in the WCC.

The winner will play top-seed Saint Mary's in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Mar. 5 at 7 pm. The quarterfinal game will love on ESPN2, WatchESPN and KXLU 88.9 FM.
LMU women's basketball will get the action started for LMU against Portland in the second game of Thursday's first session, tipping off at 2 p.m.
The Lions closed out the regular-season by completing a season sweep of rival Pepperdine, 83-77, in Malibu, and clinching a tie for seventh in the WCC standings. At 10-19 overall and 6-12 in league play, a season sweep of fellow seventh-place finisher Pacific, gave the Lions the tie breaker to earn the No. 7 seed.
Portland enters the tournament with the No. 10 seed, finishing the regular season 3-26 overall and 1-17 in league play.
The opening game for the women's basketball team will be broadcast on BYUtv and online at TheW.tv. The game will also be broadcast live on KXLU 88.9 FM.
LIONS AT THE WCC
The men's and women's winners of the 2016 West Coast Conference Basketball Championships will each receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
