W2W4: Senior Pink Weekend

LOS ANGELES - For the 19th year at LMU, the third weekend of October will begin with the ceremonial start to the college basketball season, Midnight Madness. The 2016 #LMUMadness will start the extended weekend of action on the LMU campus, today, Thursday, Oct. 20 at 8 pm. However, while hoops gets prepared to start its season, it is women's soccer that will take center stage for this week's #LIONSTRONG What To Watch For (#W2W4) for Oct. 20-23.

#W2W4: WOMEN'S SOCCER

LMU women's soccer will play a key final homestand in West Coast Conference action, starting with San Francisco for the Think Pink Game on Friday at 7 pm and then a showdown with Santa Clare on Sunday for Senior Day. Not only will LMU be honoring Katherine Henshall, Sophia Leksan, Nikki Martino, and Sydney Zuccolotto, but will also be playing for critical positioning in the final weeks of the West Coast Conference schedule. The Lions (9-3-3, 4-1) enter Friday's sets of WCC games as one of two schools with four conference wins and trail Pepperdine (9-3-3, 4-0-1) by just a point at the top of the standings. #W2W4: MADNESS

The 2016 #LMUMadness will ceremonially bring in the 2016-17 LMU basketball season. Doors open for the 19th annual event at 8 pm and will include team introductions, the annual dunk contest and a special three-point contest featuring Jeff Fryer, Steven Haney Jr., and Leslie Lopez-Wood. The eventing will include several giveaways, team introductions, and dance performances by IB Modern, Kuumba Beatz and Radix.

Season tickets for both men's and women's basketball are no on sale and are the best way to get a seat to all the action for this upcoming year. Both teams will host 18 games and some of the nation's top programs. Plenty of special are available, so buy today.


#W2W4: HOME OPENER

LMU women's swimming will host their first meeting of the season when they return home to host UC Davis in the first head-to-head meet of the year on October 21 at 2 p.m. from the Burns Aquatics Center. The Lions are coming off an impressive performance at the Malibu Invitational, winning the 200 medley relay before placing second in the 200 freestyle relay. LMU's top relay in the 200 medley took top honors with a time of 1:52.91, while the A relay finished second in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:40.93.
