NSCAA National Poll - Sept. 8 | TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 25 - Sept. 7 | NCAA National Stats

LOS ANGELES - On the heels of being off to the best start in program history with a 4-0 record, the LMU men's soccer team has jumped into a pair of national polls, and ranks among the best in a number of national statistical categories.

The Lions' perfect 4-0 start has also included four consecutive shutouts, a feat unmatched in program history. With a pair of 1-0 wins at Harvard and then unbeaten Boston College last week, LMU stretched its season-long streak without allowing a goal to 360 minutes. In fact, the last time LMU men's soccer allowed a goal was on Nov. 9, 2014, giving the program an overall streak of 483:56 minutes.

Previously unranked this fall, the Lions came in at No. 19 in the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 25, released Sept. 7. That followed with a No. 20 ranking by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, released Sept. 8.

Among 202 ranked NCAA Division I programs, the Lions are one of 21 teams with an unblemished record and one of 12 teams that have not allowed a goal scored against them.

Paul Blanchette, who earned West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for contributing two shutouts and the game-winning goal's assist at BC, is one of 15 goalkeepers across the nation to hold a perfect 0.00 GAA and 1.000 save percentage. The senior's shutout at BC on Sunday marked the 15th in his career, breaking the LMU all-time record of 14 held by Jerad Bailey (1997-2000). He was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week.

The Lions take their streak on the road Friday night, making the trip through the Grape Vine to face CSU Bakersfield at 7:30 p.m. LMU returns home to Sullivan Field on Sunday, hosting New Mexico at 4 p.m. in the second match of an LMU soccer doubleheader.

The Sunday doubleheader, which beings with LMu's women versus UC Riverside at 1:30 p.m., will feature a White-Out T-Shirt Giveaway for all fans, raffle prizes for LMU Students and will feature Westchester AYSO Day at LMU Soccer.
