BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Make it five in a row for No. 19 ranked LMU men's soccer as the Lions continue to build on the best start to a season in program history with a 3-2 victory at CSU Bakersfield Friday night.

LMU (5-0-0) got goals from Alvaro Madrigal, James Tanaka and Miles Chow as a three-match road swing concluded on the Roadrunners' Main Soccer Field.

Madrigal put the Lions on the board in the 14th minute, scoring on a direct free kick. Great ball work would lead to a 2-0 LMU advantage in the 39th minute as Tanaka would score his first goal in a Lion kit from 10 yards out of a double assist from Maurice Morton and John Bovill.

After building their record setting streak of not allowing a goal to 405:40 minutes this season and 529:36 minutes dating back to November 2014, the Lions finally surrendered a score 40 seconds into the second period.

Simon Doherty would score from eight yards out following a quick pass into the box from Daniel Dreier as CSUB cut the Lion lead in half, 2-1.

Chow pushed the LMU advantage back to two in the 75th minute, netting his first collegiate goal from close range after receiving a pass from Cruz Corral. Adrien Perez was also credited with an assist on the goal.

Bakersfield would add a second goal on a penalty kick in with just three minute remaining, but Chow's goal would stand as the game-winner in the 3-2 final.

Despite giving up his first scores of the 2015 season, senior Paul Blanchette had another solid performance in goal, making five saves on his way to his fifth straight win and 22nd of his career.

The Lions return home on Sunday for a key showdown with No. 21 ranked New Mexico. Kick off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Sullivan Field. The Sunday doubleheader, which beings with LMU's women versus UC Riverside at 1:30 p.m., will feature a White-Out T-Shirt Giveaway for all fans, raffle prizes for LMU Students and will feature Westchester AYSO Day at LMU Soccer.
