Men's Hoops Announces 2015-16 Schedule

LOS ANGELES - LMU men's basketball, in conjunction with the West Coast Conference, announced its 2015-16 schedule on Tuesday. The Lions' 14-game home slate includes the season opener on Friday, Nov. 13 at Gersten Pavilion with the race for the WCC regular season crown beginning on Monday, December 21, 2015.

The 2015-16 conference schedule will start earlier than ever as it will be contested over a 10-week span, and consist of a double round-robin format. Conference play begins prior to Christmas for the first time ever and will conclude on February 27, 2016. Season tickets for the 2015-16 season will go on sale on Monday, Aug. 31.

Ticket packages are available for low as $90 for adults and $45 for children/seniors, that is less than $7 per ticket for an adult and $3.21 for children/seniors. Special WCC game packages and single game tickets will go on sale Monday, Oct. 19. An exhibition the first week of November will be announced at a later date. The Lions will open conference play in the Pacific Northwest, facing Portland on Dec. 21 and then Gonzaga on Dec. 23. The Lions will face Wells Fargo PCH Cup rival Pepperdine in Malibu on Jan. 2 before returning home to face Saint Mary's on Jan. 7 and then Pacific on Jan. 9.

LMU will open with five of their first seven WCC game on the road. The opening stretch concludes with a trip to the Bay Area, facing San Francisco on Jan. 14, followed by Santa Clara on Jan. 16.

The Lions return home for Homecoming Week 2016, facing BYU on Thursday, Jan. 21 and then will take on San Diego for the Homecoming Game on Jan. 23. The Lions will play the same exact teams the following week when they travel to Provo, Utah, for the Cougars on Jan. 28 and then the Toreros on Jan. 30.

The first weekend of February will have the Lions start a stretch in which they will play play five of the seven remaining games at home. It begins with home dates against Gonzaga on Thursday, Feb. 4, followed by the Pilots on Saturday, Feb. 6. The final road trip of the season will take the Lions to Pacific on Feb. 11 and then Saint Mary's on Feb. 13.

The final stretch of the regular season begins on Thursday, Feb. 18 with Santa Clara, followed by the annual Family Weekend Game on Saturday, Feb. 20 against San Francisco. The regular season will then end with the Wells Fargo PCH Cup showdown at Gersten Pavilion against Pepperdine on Feb. 27.

Before conference play takes over, the Lions will play 11 non-conference opponents, starting with Cal State Fullerton at Gersten Pavilion on Nov. 13. The Lions will then head on the road to face Big West Champion UC Irvine on Nov. 15 and then Colorado State on Nov. 19.

LMU will return home for Alumni Family Day at the Game on Sunday, Nov. 22 followed by the fifth annual LMU Holiday Classic against Cal State Northridge on Nov. 25. The game the day before Thanksgiving is free to the public and will feature the annual Sodexo hotdog promotion.

LMU will head back on the road for a return game against SE Missouri State on Nov. 28 and will then head to Oregon State on Dec. 2. Following a home game against UC Riverside on Dec. 6, the Lions will head to Boise State (a 2015 NCAA Tournament participant) on Dec. 9 and then Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 12. Non-conference play ends with Jacksonville State at home on Friday, Dec. 18.

The 2016 West Coast Conference Basketball Championships will take place from March 3-8 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
