50th Newport Regatta Results
The LMU men's rowing team participated at the 50th Newport Regatta on Saturday, as the Varsity 4 rowed to a second-place finish behind UCLA. The Lions also competed in a pair of Novice 4 races, taking third in each.
The Varsity 4 race pit LMU against a boat from UCLA, two from UCSB, and one from Orange Coast College. The Lions turned in a sub-seven minute time at 6:55.3, good for second behind the Bruins (6:44).
LMU narrowly missed repeating the second-place finish in the first Novice 4 race, turning in a time of 7:07.8 only to be edged by Orange Coast College at 7:07.3 in a very tight race. University of San Diego won the event with a time of 6:56.3
LMU's second Novice 4 boat raced against Orange Coast College and UCSB, placing third with a mark of 7:49.5.
